Hey! You can keep products and services as separate line items on a quote.
You can:- Add items from your Products & Services list, choosing Product or Service for each line item, this keeps them distinct on the quote.
- Add custom line items if needed (not tied to a saved product/service).
- Optional line items let clients add on extra products or services to the quote themselves, providing clear separation while giving them choices.
A few additional notes:
- When editing, items can carry over pricing, descriptions, and tax status from your Products & Services list, but you can modify these per-quote as needed.
- Quote templates and line-item linking to your list help ensure consistency across quotes
Is this what you were hoping for or something different?

Since Jobber doesn’t have a built-in category toggle to split your view, you can use a few quick formatting tricks to get that clean visual separation right now.
Here are the best ways to keep your products and services separated so you can place orders with distributors without revealing your labor numbers:
1. The "Text Header" Divider (Best for Screenshots)
You can build visual dividers right into the line item list so everything stays clearly separated for both you and your client.
- Click Add Text in the line items section of your quote.
- Type a clear header like --- PRODUCTS & MATERIALS --- and leave the price blank.
- List all physical products directly beneath that header.
- Add a second text block named --- LABOR & SERVICES --- and place it above your service items.
- Use the Drag and Drop icon (the six dots on the left) to move your lines into position.
- Why it works: It creates a clear "cut line" on your screen. You can screenshot just the top section for your distributor without capturing labor costs.
2. Sectioning with Optional Line Items
If you use line item options in Jobber, you can use that built-in grouping feature to pull items completely out of the main block.
- Put all your core service and labor charges into the main section.
- Move all your physical products or material options into an Optional Section.
- Why it works: Jobber naturally breaks optional choices into a distinct visual block away from your standard line items, making it much easier to isolate products.
3. Internal Notes / Custom Field List
If taking screenshots still feels clunky, keep a dedicated text box for distributor items on the draft.
- Add an internal text box or a custom field named Supplier Order List.
- Copy and paste just the product names and part numbers into this box while building the quote.
- Why it works: When it's time to order, you can copy and paste text directly into an email or online order portal without taking or editing screenshots at all.
