Sales and Production are always conflicting at some point. Yet, one very common issue for business owners is to struggle to raise their own prices, however, I think consistency is one of the bigger problems I have. Production-First business owner here (shocker) and I am inconsistent with holding to my pricing. Too often I give discounts and/or walk my numbers down to be more competitive or to make sure my schedule is full instead of towing closer to that line and holding my numbers longer. I believe in our value but perhaps I still act like a start up who is afraid to fail instead of standing on what I have already built? Is there anyone else here that overcame this and how? This week, I changed my own pay structure to be held more to Sales margin on jobs so I stop thinning it out. Hello fellow colleagues , I've ran this contract business for about 10 years and gradually increased in overall revenue. But it seems I've hit a peak due to inflation and competition. Not to mention the economy is not doing too well. I've considered adding investors and sell portion of the company to keep investing but I also know the potential we have in a healthy economy and dont want to regret bringing investors and having to pay big percentage of the earnings . Any advice for those that possibly went trough this or have a strategy that are in a similar situation ?How do businesses handle different tax rates when working in multiple areas?
What does everyone do to make sure they are using the right tax rate when you are **bleep** business all over the place. Facebook is flooded with people who consistently undercut me on price but are not as good on professionalism or product quality. Whether it be residential properties or commercial? I’ve recently downsized and have been stuck sub-contracting for a larger business devoting all of my time and making pennies on the dollar. The financial strain of the decision has been weighing on me heavily. My wife has lost faith in our construction business, but I can’t help but to reminisce about how successful we were when we were at full operation with 6-10 guys. I can’t just give up on the dream.
