Hey Carmichaels! I've been using Jobber for my detailing/window tint/PPF shop for 7+ years now.
Like any tool, it's only as good as the effort you put into it. Jobber can do a lot but only if you set it up and use it the right way. Here's some of the things we use it for (in no specific order):
Send quotes and track your metrics: We send a quote to 90% of the leads that come into our business (even if we never made contact with them). On the backend, Jobber tracks the quotes we've sent, if they've been scene, how much revenue we've sent in quotes, what our close rate is based on how many quotes are accepted, etc...
This is super powerful because these are metrics you want to track over time and the only way you can track these is by sending out quotes (re: it's only as good as the effort you put into it). I can go back two years and see how much revenue we've sent out, how much we won, by what sales rep, what our close rate was, etc...
Get quotes approved and deposits paid: On 90% of our jobs, we require a deposit. For detailing jobs, it's a $20 deposit, for a water damage or mold remediation is 25%, for PPF and vinyl jobs it's 50%, and for window tint it's $25. Jobber makes it super easy for us to have the deposit on the online invoice for them to pay. And it keeps track of all of it so when it's time for them to pay the final invoice, the deposit is already subtracted from the final amount. It looks super professional.
Building out quotes: Yep, we're still talking about quotes here 😅. Customers can easily get 5 to 9 different services from us. We sell $200 and $14,000 jobs. We build out very quotes with service sections, line items, photos on the line items, pricing, photos at the bottom, etc... We fully utilize the quote building features in Jobber to make a very professional and clean quote.
Tracking man hours on jobs: Want to know how much you're actually making on each job? You have to track how long you're taking on each job. Jobber has a start/stop feature on the jobs. When we start, we hit 'start'. When the job is finished, we hit 'stop'. Whether it's one person or three people, we can objectively see how many hours we took on that car and if we went over or under budgeted hours. This is another tool you can review your pricing. Are you constantly going over budget? Maybe your prices are too low. Maybe you're inefficient.
Appointment confirmations and reminders: First, from the quotes, once a customer approves it and pays the deposit, we're able to easily convert that quote into a job. No extra data entry needed. Once we set a date and time, we click another button to send an appointment confirmation text to the customer. Then, 2 days before their appointment, we send out another appointment reminder to... remind them of their appointment.
Actionable business insights: We try to run as much as we can of our business through Jobber. Why? Because it helps build more business insights. We run every lead, customer, job, quote, etc... through Jobber. When it's time to review our month/quarter/year, we can get a lot of data in our business. We can see our most popular services, what services generated the most revenue, our labor efficiency rate, our average ticket size, our close rate during a specific time, the number of jobs we completed, the amount of refunds we've given, our highest revenue day, etc... Without running everything through Jobber, you don't get any of these insights.

That's just a few things we use it for. I really want to emphasize that it's only as good as you make it out to be. A lot of this is not on the tool, but the systems you have in place.
Let me know if you have any questions!
