I wouldn’t even dream of going back. Once you start using two-way texting in Jobber, trying to manage a schedule with phone calls and emails feels like going back to dial-up.
To be honest, we don't even use features like job driver routing or assigned driver notifications, and it's still an absolute game-changer. Even if you're running lean and taking care of everything yourself, the convenience factor alone makes it worth every penny.
How We Get the Most Out of It
- Instant Photo Quotes: Having clients text a quick picture of the property before heading out saves so many unnecessary trip charges and wasted windshield time. You can quote faster and keep the day moving.
- Faster Payments: Texting invoice links straight to their phone gets you paid way faster than email. Most clients pay right off their phone within minutes of finishing up the job.
- "On My Way" Texts: Sending a quick heads-up text before pulling up keeps customers happy, gives them time to put dogs away, and slashes no-shows to basically zero—all without having to stop and make a full phone call.
- Keeping Track: Having the whole text conversation saved directly on the client's job file in Jobber is huge. No more scrolling through a personal cell phone to figure out what was agreed on three weeks ago.
The only catch with two-way texting is that people treat text like real-time chat. Definitely set up after-hours auto-responses in Jobber so clients know you’re off the clock and aren't waiting on a reply at 9 PM.
Even without touching half the driver or dispatch tools, it cuts out a massive amount of admin headache, speeds up cash flow, and customers genuinely love it. 100% worth the upgrade!
Something else that Travis reminded me of is that the AI receptionist will start responding to the text messages and I've seen it give some really good responses and then when you have a minute you can jump back in on the covo.
I'm also going to get my admin to start texting invoices to clients as well, great tip. I do that with estimates so why not invoices.
