the best way to get started is to slowly start running Google Local Services ads.
You've probably heard people refer to them as LSA ads, and it's connected directly to your Google business profile. You only end up paying for ads if someone reaches out to your business (via your Google Business Profile).
They can be more expensive, but are way less risky than running the standard Google search ads. Essentially, they're guaranteed to get you a conversation as long as you pick up the phone. If you're a one-person-shop then that might be difficult, but it's a great way to shoot to the top of Google Maps in a short span of time.
So far so good! I did end up hiring a company that judithvirag recommended to manage it for me. We are still in the late stages of planning and about to roll it out. I am very excited for it and will update everyone when the campaign starts to roll along.
