Hi Julie
Automation should focus on minimising manual steps within the Quote/Booking/Payments process. So my 'one thing' is creating the auto-workflows for the most common daily re-occurring functions-that's it! I'm happy to go into more detail once I get more familiar with Jobber. Thanks Leon from Down Under

Automate customer text messages for start of season instead of having to make calls to confirm service start dates. If I could send out a mass text message to a contact list but it not be a group message. I spend a ton of time calling all of my customers when a quick confirmation text would speed up the process.

It would be so awesome if there could be a way to do a mass text to everyone or to everyone on the schedule for the day. It would be nice to have that option on Jobber! Writing out the text and then an auto send to each person! 🙏🏼

Automating lead nurturing
I know it’s easy to focus on winning the job, but once it’s finished, staying in touch often falls through the cracks—especially when I get busy managing multiple projects. Sometimes I miss the window for a follow-up or even forget completely.
Automating follow-up text messages and periodic check-ins would make sure no client is overlooked, showing them I still care about their needs and keeping my business top of mind for future projects or referrals.

Quote automation would be fantastic. Having an inventory list that it could pull from would be great!

I’d like to automate marketing as a whole that would be loads of value

Clients being able to select a date that we have available for job to start and finish, if you were to right up a quote and set how many days a certain job would take, and the availability would go based off of the schedule, the client then sees the open availability to choose the day. Before they accept they can see the wait time or when the soonest the job can begin.
or if it is recurring job like landscapers, cleaners, ect. you could put the duration of a house and give them weekly or monthly days the client can choose.

Time cards! I have to approve them - which syncs to quickbooks where I then run payroll, and then go back to Jobber to mark as paid? Too much swivel chairing. I know I can do the "Mark as paid and auto mark as approved" but I'd rather just had that whole thing be automated so I can just pop into quick books to review there and run payroll. Make it a quicker process.
Would also love to have automatic push notifications before an appointment starts, instead of email.

Definitely somehow an automated text reminder to the customer within the app. lol, unless I can’t find such feature.

Material summaries - automatically email a list of material required for the weeks jobs.
cancellation/reschedule requests - just like how a client can confirm.
