The most challenging part of my entrepreneurial journey over the past 19 years, has been keeping myself motivated day in and day out on a consistent basis.
Learning how to manage myself and not the business has been the hardest part.

I’ve learned that having a consistent routine and bite-sized goals keeps me motivated and on track.

Man, I respect that 100%. Staying motivated and disciplined every day definitely ain’t easy, especially when you’re building something from the ground up. I’m learning that too — it really does start with managing yourself first before anything else. I appreciate you sharing that game!”

Routine and small daily steps is my formula as well. Looking at the big picture can feel paralyzing some days, so focusing on the 2-3 tasks I need to get done keep me focused and moving forward.

Yes! Same here breaking things down into small, doable steps is what keeps me from feeling overwhelmed too. Progress is progress, no matter how small.”

So important to keep learning as a business leader.  I love this.

  • Motivation was mentioned above.  Another one for me is compartmentalizing.  One moment I am firing someone on the street whom is so disgruntled and yelling obsenities at me and literally the next meeting is an interview and putting a smile on my face.  Sometimes it gets so busy I do not have time to debrief at the end of the day and analyze my day.

That’s incredible you’ve truly honed compartmentalization if you can go from a tense firing straight into an upbeat interview. When days are too hectic for a full debrief, try a 60-second shutdown ritual at your last calendar slot.

Mentally highlight one win and one lesson from the day.Take three deliberate, deep breaths and stretch your shoulders.

That tiny pause helps you “close the lid” on work mode and come back tomorrow sharper. Can you fit that in?

  • I would say over the past twenty nine years in business. The biggest challenge has been finding employees that want to continue on with your dreams and goals. Yes, i've found many that have stayed with us. But it's hard to always find those new ones to have the same goals and values as u. Sometimes you want people to come in and do what is right. But a lot of times it's hard to find that person. There's many ways to hire the people and many of different hiring companies to go through. But I always feel like it's a hard thing to find that right employee for my business.

Absolutely, business is tough, and it’s not always easy to keep going, especially when things get rough. But those challenges are what shape us into stronger entrepreneurs. Keep pushing forward, because the hard work always pays off in the end. We’re all in this together never give up on your dreams!”

I completely understand where you’re coming from. Finding employees who share your values and are committed to the long-term success of the business is a huge challenge. It’s not just about hiring someone to do a job; it’s about bringing in people who truly believe in what we’re trying to build. I’ve found that over time, the best employees are those who genuinely fit with the culture we’ve created. It’s not always easy to find that perfect match, but when you do, it makes all the difference. It’s important to keep searching for that right fit, even if it takes time. Have you tried any specific strategies or approaches to make the hiring process more effective?”
