New Year - More Profit

Happy New Year Jobber Blueprint Family!!!

In 2025 I am focusing on small changes I can make to increase my business's bottom line.

Last year was more hectic than anticipated and I ended the year feeling a bit disorganized.

This month, I've blocked off some time to focus solely on reorganizing and decluttering, as a way to set myself up for year-long success.

Are there any changes you're making to start the year to grow your bottom line??

  • At the end of 2022, we made some big changes—and they paid off! We took our business from $900K in revenue with a negative profit margin to $1.3M in revenue this year with a 21% profit margin. 💥

The game-changer for me? CEO Fridays.

Every Friday, I’d block out 4 uninterrupted hours—no phones, no emails, no distractions. If you have to, head to a Starbucks or anywhere outside your office. This time was sacred, just me and my numbers. Why? Because what you focus on is what grows.

Here’s what I did during those sessions:

    • Tracked and set expense targets: I broke down income into specific categories (General & Admin, Repairs, Payroll, etc.) and set percentage goals for each. Every week, I’d check to make sure we were staying aligned.
    • Reviewed profitability: I dug into job profitability, especially for one-off projects. I tracked recurring jobs’ profitability as well and kept a close eye on trends.
    • Set clear goals: We calculated how much revenue we needed and the profit margin required per job to hit our goals. Breaking it down like this made the big picture feel achievable—like eating an elephant one bite at a time.

Did we have jobs where we lost money? Absolutely. But we also had homerun after homerun. ⚾

The key is consistency and focus. By keeping the bottom line front and center, we transformed our business.

If we can do it, so can you. Take that time for yourself and your business—you’ve got this! 🚀

Love this. I will implement this as well.  I think more focus on the business is always welcome.

  • As we grow our company I need to focus more on my financials - spending/revenue/profit.  Main focus is to pay my team top dollars.  I hired a fractional CFO and I am truly hoping that with him if I put in the work it will be successful.
