I really like this approach. In our industry, technical skills can be taught, but honesty, accountability, and willingness to learn are much harder to train. At Restoration Hero, we've found that attitude and follow-through are often better predictors of success than experience alone. Someone who is honest about their strengths and weaknesses and takes the time to complete a simple assessment is usually demonstrating the kind of professionalism we're looking for. As we work to bring younger people into the skilled trades, finding individuals who are coachable and committed to learning is just as important as finding someone who already has the skills.
