    Hey! 👋

Jobber supports hourly time tracking directly on jobs and visits, using timers and manual time entry.

    Options for Tracking Labor Time:

    • Start a timer during a visit – You can start/stop a timer in real time from the Jobber app or the job page. The time is recorded in the visit's labor records and in Timesheets.
    • Log time manually – If a timer wasn't used, you can add a New Time Entry on a job, specifying start/end times, employee, and rate. This appears under Labor on the job and in Timesheets.
    • View labor in Timesheets – Timesheets consolidate all time worked (visits, assessments, travel) and allow manual edits, making payroll and job costing easier.

Quick Path:During a visit, open the Jobber app and tap Start Timer to log time in real time. If recording after the fact, use New Time Entry on the job. All labor will be reflected in Timesheets for payroll and job costing.

(Note: Time entries include seconds for calculation accuracy, which can cause minor differences in labor costs vs. simple hour-minute calculations. Labor costs are calculated when timers are stopped.)

Now will your total hours automatically populate into the invoice line item? YES!

Hours tracked on a visit (via visit timers) will pull into the invoice as line items when you create an invoice from the job.

    • Invoice line items from visits – When creating an invoice, the line items from the chosen visits are automatically pulled onto the invoice.
    • Timesheets – Time tracking via visit timers and other time entries also feeds into Timesheets, which are visible in Jobber.com and the app.
    • General time entries – These appear in Timesheets as well, but invoice line items are specifically populated from the visits included on the invoice.

(Note: When generating an invoice in the app, make sure to include the relevant visits so that the time-based line items appear correctly.)
