Is handing out gift bags an effective way to get new clients?

I love that your instinct is generosity but I'd gently caution doing gift bags this early. They can be costly and time consuming to put together, and you haven't landed the clients yet to make that effort pay off.
A few things I'd consider first: a small discount on a first service, inexpensive branded materials in bulk (magnets, door hangers, a card with a QR code to your booking page). Then save the gift bags for after someone books, a recurring client or signed contract. That's when the gesture really lands, because now there's a relationship behind it.
