How Are Home Service Businesses Preparing for AI Search Visibility?

Search is changing fast.

We’ve already seen Google test online estimates and AI-assisted pricing in local search. Now, AI tools are helping homeowners decide who to call, sometimes before they ever visit a website.

Scorpion Marketing published a report with the following stats:

  • 22% of homeowners are already using AI tools to research services or get recommendations

  • 80% of business owners say they don’t know how to prepare for AI-driven search visibility

We’d love to hear what you’re seeing👇

  • Have you noticed changes in how customers find you or ask questions?

  • Are you doing anything intentionally today to prep for AI-driven search?

  • If AI search on your radar but still confusing, what question do you have?

This space will continue to evolve. Sharing what’s working (or not) across different trades helps everyone get ahead of it!

  • 9% of our jobs in the past six months have come from Chatgpt/Grok. I make blog content for things that people would be searching so we can come up as answers. I also use phone call transcripts and answer questions with blogs too.  Adding way more FAQ sections everywhere too. Schema markup, proper headings, just all the regular seo stuff. They have been good quality customers too and a high percentage of people who call us from there book in.

We've started implementing proper Schema on every page so LLMs can properly read what the page is about and extract the information needed to give back to a user's prompt. That also includes alt tags to all images, it's really annoying but it helps that you can make AI do most of the work lol

  • The bigger shift is that businesses will need to make much more specific information understandable to AI, not just optimize pages for keywords. Things like exact services, service areas, availability, pricing, policies, specialties, etc.
Has anyone here actually had a customer say they found or chose them through ChatGPT, Gemini, or another AI assistant yet?
I’d be really curious what the journey looked like.

Definitely good SEO.  We have already added it to our lead sources and we have been booking jobs because we are being referred.

My understanding is you need to have your SEO dialed in and you need to make sure you're putting text in the info for all your pictures and video. If you're posting video, it needs to have captions and any pics on google, need to have captions also.

Nice part about AI is you can just ask it haha
