How Are You Hiring? Anyone Using AI in the Process?

Hiring is one of the biggest challenges for service businesses like ours. I'm curious how others in the industry are approaching it today — especially with all the new tools out there.

A few questions for the group:

  • Where are you finding your best applicants (Indeed? Facebook? Referrals?)
  • What does your interview or onboarding process look like?
  • Is anyone using AI tools to assist with hiring?
    • For example:
      • Auto-screening resumes
      • AI chatbots for pre-interviews
      • Video interview analysis tools
      • Auto-scheduling interviews
      • Predictive scoring or assessment tools

I'm always trying to stay ahead and improve the way we bring people into our company, so I’d love to hear what’s working for you — or what tools you’re considering.

    This is the one system we keep pretty basic since we tend to "recruit" all year instead of searching when the flames are getting too hot. 

    Whenever we run ad's for team members, we always split-test that ad to see which one is performing better.


    From there we set up a quick "discovery" call to get a feel for the candidate and see if WE want to take the next steps together. 


    Next steps: we send them an email with all of our requirements to work together. If they respond back with what we requested, we meet them in-person at one of their jobs or ours. 

    After that, we either give them their first job or run. If they get the first job, we continue working together until we have customers that are not happy.

    We've done this successfully for the last 5 years with some team members still with us from day one. 

  • We also have a one week training period and this is a great time to determine if they are a fit.  We also recruit all year along and I am working on automating my hiring process up to the In Peson Interview. Super exciting.
