How Do You Manage Sales to Production Hand Offs?

I have two problems I could use some insight on for you companies that have a sales person and a production side of the business:

  1. How do you communicate the promises made to your customers in the sales process to those who are executing? Specifically for those GCs and Handymen who have varied scopes from project to project
  2. Is there a software that can help with that? Jobber gets you half way there with the Sales tab but it's not expanded (yet, I'm going to message them) so I'd like to have some sort of system so I can see where a project is at a glance.

I just hired a production manager but I've always done sales and production managing so it's easy for me to make notes in jobber for the field staff. I'm trying to devise a system that I can get this info to the production manager without having 1000 meetings about every single job.

Randy_Warner Have you done any development or integration work that helps fix or minimize the problem scenario above (we experience this too). Sorry to distract you, but you were so responsive before that I had to ask...thank you.

Thanks for tagging me here Denise! Trying to do this exclusively with Jobber would most likely be a bit difficult. Depending on the Job size or timeline I could very easily see important details getting lost in the notes. Many trades, including GCs, as HUGEHomePros mentioned in the OP have longer term projects that can span multiple weeks, if not months.

One solution is to integrate a true project management application for use during the service delivery part of the process. You could integrate this with Jobber in a way so that with every Job creation, a new Project would be created in your project management application. This could include every note from the Quote that was used to create the Job in Jobber so that all of the information from the sales team was pushed to the project management application. Everything would then be managed in there for the duration of the project. Then, when the Job is complete you could push any relevant information back to the Job in Jobber as notes for later reference in Jobber if necessary.

While this of course isn't the ONLY solution it's one that I have seen others use before. Hope this helps in some way!

  • You could use Companycam integrated with your Jobber account.   Companycam you can do also pdf reports that you can attach to your jobs.
