The Newer Quoting Template

We’ve been using the newer template feature and I’m curious how other companies are setting theirs up. Are you building one master template and adjusting from there, or creating separate templates for different service types? Also, how detailed are you getting with line items and optional add-ons?

We’re building ours out now, but the direction we’re taking is one core template for our standard operational support services, with specialized versions for different service types and contract requirements.

The goal is to keep the base template consistent while allowing for service-specific scope, compliance requirements, and optional add-ons. For line items, I want enough detail for clients to clearly understand the deliverables without overloading them with unnecessary detail. Optional add-ons also seem like a good way to present extra support services without cluttering the main proposal.

We have a lot of different job types so we set up a lot of different templates. Mostly for the example pictures so I don't have to spend forever browsing through my stuff to find relevant pictures of our work. I like the example of attaching the COI and stuff too.

All our quotes are custom to the job so i always try to use options. The way they have options now is amazing - so you can switch things from optional to not optional. My only complaint is that the first couple pages can format weird if you have long quotes or long line items.

We create a couple of templates depending on the service being provided. We also differentiate for repeat customers — showing them who we are to build confidence that we're their go-to company.

We attach our proof of insurance and license, and we include reviews. Depending on the service, we select relevant ones on our end — so if it's a removal template, it shows reviews specifically about removals.

We also have an intro letting them know who we are and what equipment we have to get the job done right.
