Any solo cleaning business owners??

Hi everyone,

Starting out with your solo commercial or residential cleaning business, what was the biggest mistake you were making or misunderstanding you had about running a business when seeking new clients? And what to you do to move forward and grow?

Thank you in advance! I'm just starting out and I'm interested in blindspots I may have as new business owner.

  • The biggest mistake I made was pricing my cleaning services too cheaply in the beginning.  I initially did that to get the new clients and get referrals.  It took years to get prices up to where they should be in the local cleaning market.  Know your value and what you bring to the table.

  • I realized the work I avoided was the work that needed to get done.

it was always easy for me to do the jobs, but getting the clients comes first. Don’t hold back on sales. Get out there, meet new people, gain new connections.
