  • I'm still learning the government contracting space myself, but one thing I've heard consistently is to make sure your business foundation is in place first. That includes having your business registration, EIN, SAM.gov registration, capability statement, and any applicable certifications completed before pursuing opportunities.

I've also been told that starting with smaller contracts can help build experience and past performance, which can make it easier to compete for larger opportunities later. Networking and building relationships with procurement officers and prime contractors also seems to be very important.

I'd love to hear from those who are already winning bids. What has been the biggest factor in your success?
