What strategy has helped your business grow the most: marketing, networking, referrals, social media, or something else?”

  • As a small business owner, I’ve found that relationships are the biggest driver of growth. Great customer service leads to referrals, while consistent social media keeps our business visible. Every completed project is an opportunity to earn another recommendation, and that’s been our best marketing strategy so far.

I completely agree. Building strong relationships and providing great customer service creates trust, and trust leads to referrals. Social media helps people find you, but happy customers are what keep a business growing. It sounds like you've built a solid foundation for long-term success!

  • Sometimes I hate to admit it, but Homestars for me has made the biggest impact. I have gained a really good reputation on there and have started to consistently get people to either request my company, or search my company name off the site. The fees can get high and I don't like how they can charge multiple pros for one lead. I also have a bit of an issue with dead end leads or tire kickers, but it's keeping me very busy and making me some serious money too.

That's great to hear! It sounds like you've found a way to turn the platform into a real advantage by building a strong reputation. Even with the higher fees and occasional dead-end leads, it's proof that consistently delivering quality work pays off. Wishing you continued success and even more direct referrals as your name keeps growing!

For me, it’s been a combination of building relationships, staying consistent, and using social media to get my name out there. Networking and referrals are powerful because people trust recommendations, but social media helps you reach people who may not know about your business yet. I’ve learned that providing value, doing quality work, and staying visible are what really help a business grow over time. 🚀 🚀
