What are the best business coaching programs for home service business owners?

Does anyone have a recommendation for a residential construction/remodeling coaching program with systems, daily operations, hiring etc?

Looking for a program that you have had personal success with. Thank you in advance!

I have tried quite a few programs! I was actually going to make a stand along post on this but I'll just put it here! So the coaching programs I've done have general best practices for businesses but usually are skewed toward a certain skillset. The one piece of advice I can give is make sure you set aside 5 hours every week to work on it. You will need to do this AHEAD of time. Don't just go about your week and hope to squeeze it in. I'm super guilty of this - you need to time block.

Contractor Fight Program with Tom Reber - This program is really good for businesses less than $1M in revenue where you are primarily in a sales role or you are half in the field, half doing the sales. There are some good take aways as far as job costing, how to figure out your charge rate, and some leadership stuff but the primary benefit of this program is sales training. After you go through most the videos you are mostly role playing sales calls with other members. This is really helpful but it can be hard to stick with. I would say if you apply yourself you can probably graduate yourself after a couple months. I also didn't need as much help with the role playing. I can't remember the price but I want to say it's like $3k for the first three months or something then a couple hundred bucks a month after that. Some people have been in there years. Personally I really like Tom Reber and feel like he has a lot of value BUT outside of the role playing, the content of the program could be gotten through their podcasts and using AI to help put together reports. Also Jobber's Insights puts together a lot of the info they give you spreadsheets to figure out so there's that.

Break Through Academy - This program is really for people at the $1M mark and beyond. They have a lot of done for you SOPs and other documentation that you can use. The videos are very details and specific. There is a ton of info in this course. It's one of those courses you should probably be in like 1-3 years because there are so many things to fix in our businesses and it doesn't happen overnight. They have weekly calls in their "blue prints" period of time then after that your coaching calls are biweekly, and the off weeks have Q and A calls. You also can schedule 1 on 1 with a coach any time you want (they book up so you gotta plan that out). Their coaches advice is very good. I think the initial investment is around $5k for the blue prints which is like 2 or three months then it's $850/ month after that. I would say it's worth it as long as you apply yourself. I would say this program is lacking in useful marketing strategies but they do have a few modules on it.

Tommy Melo's Home Service Freedom - Firstly I'll say that when I tried this program out it was really early on so I'm sure it's improved but I felt like this one was too expensive for what you get. Tommy Melo obviously has a big following but I felt like this course was leveraging those feelings as opposed to actually useful content. I didn't have a good experience the first month and actually left the program and got a refund. Trying to be objective here, I think it was early on so I don't want to trash it too much but lately I've felt like all the supplemental programs and products that come out of his universe haven't been the best (chiirp, pinn parrot, etc) so I think I'd look elsewhere for his coaching.

Steve Hunsaker's Home Service Accelerator - This is primarily for marketing, specifically on facebook/ meta. Some people have a lot of success with that and if you want to learn how to do that, this program is for you. I would say anyone that has an agency running ads for them, this would be for you. I feel like agencies can be replaced by just educating yourself and implementing what you learn. The initial investment is $5k for the bulk of the course then they keep you in a discord channel that is FULL of value. They have weekly calls for different things, you can always get help from the group with ads and stuff. I get a lot out of this group.
