Is there a way to make routes in maps so it can show you the fastest route for a day of your jobs?

Scottief, Many companies like Amazon, UPS, and FedEx use advanced routing software that helps them optimize delivery routes, considering factors like traffic, distance, and delivery time windows. For smaller businesses, there are several online mapping tools that provide route optimization features, and some can be integrated into systems like Jobber.
Here are some options that might work for your needs:
- Google Maps API – While Google Maps may not provide multi-stop route optimization out of the box for end users, its API does support optimization features for multiple locations. You can integrate Google Maps with systems like Jobber through custom coding or use third-party tools to implement it. However, there may be a cost depending on usage.
- RouteXL – A free-to-use (with limitations) service that allows you to plan multi-stop routes. You can enter up to 20 locations for free, and it will optimize the route for you. There's a paid version if you need more stops. You could potentially integrate it with Jobber or similar systems through API calls.
- MapQuest – MapQuest offers route optimization for multiple locations and has both free and paid plans. It also provides an API that could be integrated into Jobber, allowing you to optimize routes for deliveries.
- Route Planning from TruckRouter – This is a web-based service specifically designed for optimizing truck routes, but it can be used for our purposes. It has a free version for limited functionality and could be used for route planning.
- Circuit Route Planner – A route optimization app that offers a free plan for up to 10 stops. It also offers a paid version for larger route optimization, but you can start with the free version. Circuit offers an API for integration with other platforms, and it may integrate well with Jobber or other scheduling systems.
- Waze – Waze offers routing with real-time traffic updates, which can be an advantage for route optimization. While not traditionally for businesses, you could use Waze to get live information that could help in adjusting routes. However, integrating Waze directly into systems like Jobber would require custom development.
Many of these services also offer APIs that allow businesses to integrate their routing features directly into other software platforms like Jobber. Some of these APIs are free or low-cost for moderate usage, so you should be able to find a solution that fits your budget.
For those of you that don't know, an API is a set of rules and protocols that defines how software components interact. For example, an API might allow one program to request information from another program (like retrieving the fastest route from Google Maps). You'll need someone that knows how to integrate an API to make it work in Jobber, or we can ask Jobber to provide us this useful feature.

This community may have little value if WE = ( the folks in the field) don’t have a voice with those who aren’t. Recommendations that make sense fall on deaf ears.
