Invoice update via API

Jobber does not allow invoices to be updated and closed/marked as paid from externally. We use Xero as our main accounting system as it hooks into or bank. Every time we mark an invoice as paid in Xero, we need to manually close the corresponding invoice in Jobber.

I have raised this multiple times with Jobber but it is not on their roadmap. Hoping there are more people out there with the same requirement to help boost this post so that Jobber can do something about it. Unless someone has found another way to do it. This will save at 30+ hours a month of man hour to change every invoice.

Have you looked into making an integration with Zapier? That would be the simplest and most effective and save you a tonnnnnn of man hours as you stated.

Yes. I looked at Zapier and Make.com.

But like I said Jobber does not expose the required fields via their API thus none of these options work. Unless you are able to offer a solution??

If there's not a specific Zap for this, you can typically use Google sheets as an external zap that you can customize for further applications. I looked at the Zapier website and it looks like Jobber has the Zap you are looking for.

        Here's the list:https://zapier.com/apps/xero/integrations/jobber

Sorry for my last post I know it’s not a response or helpful. I just needed to vent  a bit.

All good! Thats why we have the forum. We can get so much figured out in here if we all work together. Our teams benefit along with our customers.

The frustrating part, is that Jobber charges for every integration or option and it is not cheap. I love using Jobber but as a first year business, I can’t afford to be nickel and dimed.

Yes the softwares can get expensive that's for sure. We try and make sure all of our overhead is covered in our mark-up which always allows us a little wiggle room for extras like the integrations.
However, it would be nice if Jobber would some day allow an open API source in the back end. That would be magical!

Our HQ is pushing us to go to Thriv. They are launching oir new website on it which is awesome. Something Jobber only launched a basic version.

The updates that Jobber launched the past year does not help me. They launch new fancy dashboards but do not care of making day-to-day tasks quickier. It is not even on their roadmap. It would be great to see their roadmap.

If you were to mark it paid in Jobber first, would it then push that payment out to Xero? Right now that is how it works with QuickBooks. If you mark an invoice as paid in Jobber, it will push the payment through to QBO so that you don't need to do it twice.

Yes, but you still nees to reconcile it in Xero. And sometimes Xero match it against the incorrect invoice and need to manually change it.
