At what point do you hire an agency?

I'm at the point in my business where I really need to not be doing stuff that I'm not good at and I have enough money to invest in different areas of the business to improve the operations. I'm actually rebranding as well so I'm changing our website then it got me thinking - My old website was good, I put a lot of work in to the back links, SEO optimizing it myself, but it does look a little DIY. I got to thinking, this would be a good time to do it correctly and potentially have a professional do it, and maybe I've been missing out on potential traffic because of the website.

Has anyone hired an agency with success? What about failures? What things should I be thinking about when approaching this?

  • I hired about year 10 at 500 k revenue.  Since then we have tripled our revenue.  I tried to waste a lot of time learning marketing, SEO, Google and by the time I was getting some stuff they changed it.  I felt like I was not able to focus onwards to the bigger picture and build the brand.  I hired because I wanted to run my business not keep learning things that are always changing and I never felt caught up.

  • If things aren't going well in one area think about the employees! Did they make enough or are they putting in more time & not getting enough money. Is this a company with over 20 employees? What real security is given to the employees? Are they driven or older & set in their ways while having a stability as in home owners would have? Be considerate as well as becoming a family without getting to close to the family of the employees! This is key!

  • We haven't hired an agency, but it's definitely something to consider. Although, sometimes I wonder, how many people are actually looking at our website? More people are attracted to Instagram and Facebook. I know Tiktok is something thats blowing up too but I just don't have the capacity to add on another social media tool. Sometimes you need to just buy back your time (great book to read by dan martell), and hire an agency and let the pros do the work.

  • You’re definitely at the right stage to consider it when your time is better spent on growth instead of figuring things out yourself, that’s usually the signal.

If you’re rebranding, it’s actually a perfect moment to bring in a professional so everything (design, SEO, conversion) is done properly from the ground up instead of patching a DIY setup.

I’d suggest you check this person out (hellomichael.consult@gmail.com they focus on building clean, high-converting websites and can also handle the SEO side so you don’t lose the value you’ve already built.

I agree. Also, use real photos of real people & real places you & ya employees are regularly! Anyone nowadays can use AI to make a page look so called professional but they have no , the word I want to use isn't soul, it's more like, like a person who has hobbies outside of work, character maybe..
