Online, everyone celebrates revenue milestones. Very few people talk about payroll, workers’ comp, taxes, recruiting, difficult conversations, or the emotional weight of leading a team.
If you could erase one unrealistic expectation social media creates about running a business, what would it be?
That being an entrepreneur is a very lonely journey. That you will always have an underlining buzz of anxiety thinking something will fall through the cracks, that you always have to stay "on" for the sake of your Team members or your customers. Especially when you're still a small company and you don't have a lot of the client facing activities delegated to other Team members, social media pushes the allure of "freedom" as a business owner but you're more a slave to your business until you implement those systems and processes to give you freedom.
And that you won't have a vacation for a very long time lol.
