Google has been our best lead strategy. We have tried yelp, angi, home advisor, service magic, magazines, radio, newspapers, golf courses, malls, mail outs. I could go on. Google had changed the way we gain clientele and at a cheaper rate. If you use yelp keep your budget at $5/day. There is no benefit above this. Pay per lead has been good. You must call the lead within 5 seconds of receiving and get solid reviews with pay per lead. With google we are 5 star rated with 150 reviews. We get compliments all the time about our reviews and that is the reason they called. With unhappy customers, work with them the best you can, with immediate response times.

I second this. Google has been a game changer.

In my experience the best customers usually come from Google and referrals. Focus on getting as many Google reviews as possible and making sure your business shows up when someone searches locally. Yard signs can work well too, especially when you leave them at work for a few days. People in the same neighborhood often need the same service. Thumbtack can help get things moving early on, but long term I would focus on Google presence, reviews, and word of mouth. Those tend to bring the highest quality customers.

I think the best customers have actually come from a thorough vetting process. We won't go out to their property till we've had a phone call and established some sort of budget. I've gotten some of my best customers from all of those thing you listed. Honestly, thumbtack can feel like a money pit but it always ends up in the positive (big picture). I don't keep a good handle on metrics yet, but I'd honestly say Thumbtack is the best. haha referrals can be hit and miss just like anything else. I'd tell you one of the worst - from any social circles you have. It sucks giving someone at church a bid that's way higher than they were thinking and them seeing you every day.

Google! Jobber works with NiceJob and due to this, we now have over 450 five-star reviews (it helps organic SEO). We also pay for technical SEO/AEO. Networking is huge as well as a solid referral program (ours is give $50, get $50!)
