ntroduction to OhioSupremeClean – How to Grow a Fully Automated Cleaning Business

Dear Community,

I hope this message finds you well. My name is Ahmednoor Hussain, and I am the owner of Ohio Supreme Clean, a professional cleaning service in Columbus, Ohio, to providing top-tier residential and office cleaning solutions. We focus on quality, reliability, and efficiency, ensuring our clients enjoy spotless spaces without the hassle.

As I work on expanding my business, I’m looking for insights on hiring employees, competitive pay rates, and the best way to transition from a solo operation to a fully automated cleaning system—one that can run efficiently without my constant presence. My goal is to build a streamlined business that generates $200,000+ per year, leveraging AI tools and technology to automate scheduling, customer service, marketing, and operations.

I have a few key questions:

  1. Hiring the First Employees – What’s the best way to attract and hire reliable cleaning staff? Should I start with contractors or full-time employees?
  2. Competitive Pay Rates – What is a fair and competitive starting wage for cleaners in Columbus, Ohio?
  3. Scaling Up & Automating – With today’s AI tools, is it realistic to build a self-sustaining cleaning business? What technologies or systems would you recommend to automate operations?
  4. Growing to $200K+ Annually – What are the key steps to reach this revenue milestone while ensuring quality and efficiency?

I’d love to hear your thoughts or connect with anyone experienced in this space. If you have insights or recommendations, I’d greatly appreciate your guidance.

Looking forward to your response!

Best regards,

Ahmednoor Hussein

  • Hi Ahmendoor, Congrats on growing and expanding.  Here are my comments to your quesitons, hope it will help and spark some ideas.

    1. Start with employees instead of contractors to ensure quality control and loyalty. Use a structured hiring process that includes reference checks, training, and clear expectations from day one. Develop core values, mission and vision and hire based on this.

    2. Pay rates vary by location, but a good starting point is slightly above market rate to attract and retain talent. Research local wages and consider adding incentives like referral bonuses or performance-based raises. Consider making offers with total compensation in mind.

    3. Yes, AI tools can help automate scheduling, customer service, and marketing. Jobber is amazing for scheduling, automated text/email follow-ups, and AI-driven customer inquiries.

    4. Focus on securing recurring clients, optimizing efficiency with checklists and training, and leveraging technology to streamline operations. Expanding into condos or partnerships with property managers can accelerate growth while maintaining quality. Focusing on Google My Business - getting good reviews and SEO.

    Thanks, Judith
