So ive tried using yelp and nextdoor to find jobs. But there seems to be an increase in scam jobs.
It seems 90% of my call ins are scams now. Its always ill pay now with a fake cashiers check and try and have you send them money. I haven't fallen for it. Never accept a job site unseen!14Views1like0CommentsHow do you get fencing and deck jobs when you're just starting out with no marketing budget?

Trying to figure out what actually works for marketing a small service business in 2026 feels like throwing darts blindfolded sometimes. 😅 Facebook boosts? Marketplace? Reels? Before & after photos? Community groups? Google Business? Word of mouth? Door hangers? I run a veteran-owned rural property management company in New Brunswick, Canada, and I’m curious what’s genuinely bringing people, real customers lately — not just likes and views. For the people actually getting calls and booked jobs: • What’s been your most successful marketing approach? • What gives the best ROI for a small budget? • What completely flopped for you? • Are you finding people respond more to personality/branding or straight-up service ads and pricing? Would love to hear real experiences from other small business owners and operators. 🚜🔥25Views0likes0CommentsWhat software do you use to capture and track leads?

Hey everyone, Aaron here with Latiolais’ Lawn Co. out of Lafayette, Louisiana 👋 I started my lawn and property maintenance business while working a full-time job during the week, and have been growing it through hard work, referrals, and trying to provide dependable service every time. Jobber has honestly helped take my business to another level with estimates, invoicing, scheduling, and keeping customers updated professionally. It’s helped me run smoother operations and build stronger relationships with customers. Excited to keep learning from everyone in this community and continue growing the business 👍 For those that started owner-operated, what helped y’all the most when making the jump toward full-time?112Views1like5CommentsWhat kind of premium do you charge when its a job no one has been able to do or figure out before.
So I have a couple jobs im putting in bids for with no competition because of the fact no one can figure it out. Well I have a couple tools at my disposal that I believe can get the job done. One being the windows on the inside of an 11 story lobby for a major hotel in vegas. Since the tower was built no one has cleaned them. So they are bad. What can I do to make this the best payday possible. Without them saying they are not prepared for that kind of cost. But getting this done also secures me the highrise exterior contract.Solved58Views1like3CommentsHow can I re-build my business from ground zero?
Hi my name is Jeremy Lesser, I am the Business Owner/CEO of a small residential painting and home improvements business. I have been in business since 2022. After about a year or so of being in business, I about called it quits and started doing Maintenance Engineering. Well having my own business doing what I love to do the most which is drywall and painting, has been a dream of mine since I first started doing drywall and painting 15+ years ago. I want my business to succeed. I have a perpetual LLC. for my business, so I would like to build my business back and Lord willing watch it grow this time. I have more patience and knowledge in it. How can I build my business with zero income and zero revenue? I have been applying for grants. Please help! Thank you and God Bless. ~Jeremy Lesser~129Views0likes3Comments
