GMB how to get listed as a mobile business

Hi, My name is Deanna and I am a sole owner/operater for Pawsitive Lawns LLC. I am starting a dog waste removal business with the intentions of growing and expanding into lawncare and landscaping and other services. I am in the beginning stages of operating a new business. I am starting small, as I have limited capital right now and using personal funds, but I got rejected from listing my business on google my business because of my physical location is my house, but I will be traveling to residential and commercial locations, not having people come to my location. Does anyone know how to get a mobile service listed correctly so I can be "googled" in my service area? Thank you in advance for any and all help. I truly appreciate being part of this community!

Hi Deanna, welcome and congrats on launching Pawsitive Lawns LLC!

You absolutely can list a home-based, mobile service business. You just have to do it the right way so Google accepts your setup and shows you in the areas you serve.

Choose: "Service-area business" during the setup

DO NOT check the box that says you serve customers at your business address

Enter your home address ONLY for verification purposes, but choose to hide it so it doesn’t show up on the listing

    Set Your Service Area

    Once you hide your address:

Enter the towns, cities, or zip codes you serve

Google allows you to choose by radius or specific cities — start with a tight area to avoid red flags

Verify Your Business - Usually, Google sends a postcard to your home address with a code.

Once received (typically in 5-7 days), log back in and enter the verification code.

    Since Your Profile Got Rejected

    It usually means:

    You didn’t hide your address
You didn’t select “I deliver goods/services to my customers at their location”
The service area wasn’t set properly
    To fix:

Log into your Google Business dashboard
    Go to “Info” tab
Remove the address from public view
    Add/adjust your service area
Resubmit for review or request re-verification
Should be good to go after that! Good luck!

Thank you for your response. It is very informative and helpful. I truly wish I was slightly more tech savvy, but it's a work in progress! :)

I will work on the corrections and I thank you again for your assistance!

  • It's just an option, but you can use a virtual Address instead of your physical address. I hope this helps.
