Phase 3 Preparation Tips for Jobber Grant Applicants

To everyone who may be advancing to Phase 3 of the Jobber Grants competition, congratulations on making it this far. The work you put in now can help your business long after this competition.

Here are a few things I’d recommend focusing on:

  1. Review your full application and be ready to speak confidently about everything you submitted.
  2. Practice explaining your business in 30–60 seconds. Keep it simple, clear, and memorable.
  3. Know exactly how you would use the grant and the impact it would have on your business.
  4. Update your website, LinkedIn, and social media so your online presence reflects your business professionally.
  5. Refresh your business plan and make sure it reflects your latest progress and goals.
  6. Know your numbers—customers, revenue (if applicable), milestones, growth, and future goals.
  7. Practice answering questions out loud. Confidence comes from preparation and repetition.
  8. Be ready to explain what makes your business unique and why now is the right time for it.
  9. Organize your financial information and important business documents in case they’re needed.
  10. Create a simple one-page overview of your business that clearly explains your mission and vision.
  11. Gather testimonials, reviews, or customer feedback if you have them. Social proof adds credibility.
  12. Stay informed about your industry so you can confidently discuss current trends and opportunities.
  13. Build relationships with other founders. Networking often creates opportunities beyond this competition.
  14. Don’t memorize answers. Know your story well enough that your passion comes through naturally.
  15. Take care of yourself. Get enough rest, stay focused, and walk into every opportunity with confidence.
  16. Most importantly, act like you’ve already made it to Phase 3. Use this time to strengthen your business, improve your brand, and prepare for every opportunity ahead.

Wishing everyone the best of luck. No matter who moves forward, keep building, keep learning, and keep believing in what you’re creating. Your next breakthrough could be closer than you think.

Great information on what we need to be ready! Thanks for that!

Has anyone received word if they will be moving forward to phase 3?

You’re welcome! I was taking a guess on the things that they might ask us during phase three. It might don’t be the exact questions but it could help us get a better understanding. I haven’t heard back from them yet, Still waiting as we speak.

  • Thank you for the advice and support... It's nice to know that this community is here to help us in any industry. I'm some what new to Jobber and I'm very grateful for everyone here. I don't think I'll be moving forward to phase 3 now that I'm reading more and more but it's definitely been a very helpful and learning experience for the future of my business. Unfortunately, I just don't think I'm were I need to be in order to progress forward but it definitely gives me hope that maybe by the next time around I'll be there and have a better foot forward. Fingers crossed for everyone....

Anyone hear about Phase 3 yet? If they are notifying applicants that didn't make the cut, they are going over the projected timeline. No news is good news, right?

From my P.O.V. I think they probably have a lot of great applicants and it’s tough to pick a top candidate. So, they’re probably taking extra caution when selecting the right candidates.

I have not heard anything yet. The last email I received said they would contact the finalists in early to mid-July.

  • Don’t count yourself out just yet! None of us know the final decisions until Jobber makes the announcements. You took the chance to apply, made it this far, and that’s already something to be proud of. You never know—you could still be one of the finalists. The program selects multiple winners, and every finalist started out wondering if they had a chance too. Keep believing in your business, keep building, and don’t lose hope until the official results are out. Wishing you the very best—I hope to see your name on the finalist list! 🙌
