This is very similar to how I started Clearway Property Care Inc. in Long Sault, ON.
I began with weekend handyman work doing general maintenance for a family member’s investment properties. It was simple hands-on jobs at first, but it quickly grew through word of mouth as people wanted someone reliable they could trust for ongoing upkeep.
That evolved into core home maintenance services like furnace filter changes, alarm checks, gutter cleaning, lawn care, and snow removal. The biggest lesson was that consistency, communication, and showing up on time matter just as much as the work itself.
If I could restart, I would build systems and service packages earlier because it makes scaling much easier.
