Traning process

Hello, looking for advice on a training process for residential cleaning. Struggling to come up with a plan to help cleaners become successful. As of right now I been hands on training in person. As im growing and hiring team leaders i need a better training process as i can't always be there to train.

I trained my strongest employee to be a trainer do now I never train employees. Also, this way each employee is trained with consistency bevause they work together on jobs and she can watch how they’re doing and get them to adjust as needed.

  • Thank you, I'll look into the podcast with Shannon Miller.

      Hey there Mayflower!
Training is sometimes one of the most difficult things to do, because there's operational training like procedures and interaction. There's also development training for your teams and especially your team leaders.

Doing a quick google search, I see there are cleaning videos available from ISSA residential and other big players in the cleaning space. I'd ask for demos & quotes from each of these and find which aligns best for your company. I don't think you're quite at a place where you can produce your own training videos, but that's always an option.

I'm not sure about cleaning, but in the industry I'm in, downloading training videos and uploading it to my HRIS (ADP) is pretty simple. Overall, it can cost a few thousand but you'll never have to worry about it again!

    Hello Mayflower!

Training can be a struggle! Have you tried to have CHAT GPT to help you build a training program?

  • We have built out a 5 day training plan.  We monintor the candidate very closely and usually by day 3 our trainers will communicate if they are a good fit.  We use Trainual (we have loads of training videos) the first day and then 4 days in the field with the trainer.  We adopted Cleaning Business Fundamentals training process. I highly recommend this program for cleaning business owners.  We have built out checklists in Jobber for every day of the training so we don't miss anything.
