Improving Jobber's Online Booking for a Cleaning Business

Hey everyone,

I love using Jobber for my cleaning business, but I’m finding the online booking functionality a bit lacking. We’re losing potential clients and wasting ad spend because customers can't book instantly online. While we always respond quickly to inquiries, the inability to offer instant booking is really hurting us.

We provide a range of services—End of Lease, General Home Cleaning, Airbnb Cleaning (based on the number of rooms, bathrooms, etc.)—and have optional extras like oven cleaning and linen hire. Setting all this up in Jobber's online booking system has been a nightmare!

I know some of our competitors use platforms like Booking Koala or Launch27, but I really don’t want to switch. Has anyone found a good workaround within Jobber or a solution that works for similar businesses?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    What are some features that you would like to see added to online booking? I'll add a few: 

    1. Ability to allow different services for different employees in Jobber. Right now it's all or nothing.
    2. Location booking settings by the employee so I can keep certain people driving in certain areas. 
    3. Good / Better / Best options ? 
    4. A cleaner UI for the services. Right now there is just a long list so you can't add too many otherwise it will confuse people.

        Hey there, it’s simple but workable right now. Perfect for people dabbling in online booking. 

  • Things we'd like to see:

    1. REQUIRE A CREDIT CARD AT THE TIME OF BOOKING
    2. Agree w/ WiringBryon:  cleaner UI, especially the long list he mentions.  It would be nice if the user could input whatever cost parameter is needed (square footage, frequency, etc), then have the price(s) shown.  
    3. Ability to show pics, or even just icons, to go along w/ any line items.  For example, oven cleaning may be an extra service, but having a pic/icon of an oven next to that option would be great.
    4. More customization of the available timeframe

    I'm glad we're all starting to brainstorm this.

  • I can see where this may be an issue if you have more of a big city culture to cater to. People still call us personally to book us and I think it is because 99% of my customers generally want someone to talk to personally. Even our commercial clients call us. Most of our clients are over the age of 50. Even if I had trouble bookingI could never think of getting rid of jobber because I like how it is set up and it is my library. It would be nice if they had more of an older generation customer geared training video to show people how to book and use their client hub.

    We will continue to submit this feedback to our Product Development team so they understand the importance of this feature to our customers!

  • Thanks for posting this, as we have been finding the same issue for our cleaning division of our business. We are trying to see if we can come up with a solution in Jobber as we do not want to switch either. We will share whatever we manage to come up with, if we find a creative way to make it work!

  • Same here.  Jobber's online form is just too basic.  We use Launch27 since it's much more robust and customizable.  But, we would LOVE to solely use Jobber's online booking.  We've been with jobber for 8 years and they're always very responsive.  I'm hoping they were working on this and have some new features soon.

  • We use BookingKoala for our online booking needs. Jobber is just too basic in this regard.

  • Be great to get an update on when this simple feature will be rolled out? Jobber is so expensive for it to lack this simple feature

      I don't know if we can call Jobber expensive... If anyone needs better online booking for the time being before Jobber adds more features I would recommend Responsibid, it's pretty awesome.

        We can definitely call Jobber expensive in relation! Checked out Responsibid; at almost $200 a month, after a $700 initial payment, for the plan that integrates with Jobber... felt it too was a bit much

      HouseKept, you really nailed it. I've tried to make Jobber work, but it is simply too basic.

      We have to use BookingKoala.

      Has there been any update here, there is a lot of focus on things like AI assistants, in product updates, and I feel like the product team are missing basic/easy updates like online boooking.

      what is the feedback from the team?

      I sent an email last wee to support and still have no heard a peep from them. This request ahs been outstanding for a year now.

  • I would agree that we need a type of online booking. Something that syncs with the current Jobber calendar. The Find A Time is useful, but barely. Only when you are creating a new job. We need it to be useable for sending a booking link for a estimate that was moved to job status, or even just to be able to select a job. This would of course need to include the ability to assign expected hours of completion to a job so that the calendar could pick a slot. This would also allow us to attribute expected budget hours. This is huge in job projections.

      Man I love these ideas... I feel like at some point they will add in a "price book" where we could build our pricing on the back end. Example, kitchen clean would take 2 hours + $30 in supplies. Then I like your idea of an approved job being sent to the client to book in themselves and Jobber would know that what they are booking would need a open time slot of 2 hours...
