Non billable hour tracking in Jobber (time clock workarounds)
I use Jobber and am finding the Time Clock feature too limited for my needs. While I don’t plan on switching from Jobber any time soon, I wanted to reach out to the community to see what others have done in this situation. I can’t imagine I’m the only one facing this issue. My main concern is that the "General" time clock category hides too much information. Having only the options for clocking "Job Time" or "General" time leaves a lot of room for error, in my opinion. For example, when a team member has a slow day and completes various "overhead" or "non-billable" tasks, it all gets lumped under "General" time. For our company, these tasks include picking up chemicals from a supplier, fixing a headlight on a truck, delivering door hangers, etc. Relying on team members to make their own notes after the fact or expecting an admin to remember these details later feels unsustainable. If we see that a team member has clocked 5 hours on a job and 3 hours under "General" time, it could easily be mistaken for them simply forgetting to clock out for the day. My team is small, but I imagine this issue is even more pronounced in larger teams. Can anyone suggest workarounds or solutions they’ve found? Maybe I need to put more focus on verifying these manual adjustments, but that feels quite labor-intensive. Thanks!Solved1.6KViews6likes28CommentsCreating Teams In Team Management
Good day to all, I wanted to see if this is something that Jobber is planning on implementing anytime in the very near future. For those of us that run a landscape company we typically run in teams. As of right now, it appears that things are a little harder than it should be, just personal opinion. Here is the scenario: Current: Every employee has their own app where they clock in and clock out, that's great. However, If you are running a team of 2 or 3 personnel, each member not only has to clock in, but has to start a timer and stop a timer at each and every job site. This becomes a nightmare when it's time to approve times. For those of us in this industry, I think you feel this pain as well. I'm sure you've figured a work around, but at the sacrifice of not knowing your true job cost in labor. Idea..... Future: In team management, create teams, this is where a company can have multiple teams, example Alpha team, Bravo team. Alpha team has 3 men on the crew and Bravo has 4 men on the crew. Each team is assigned a day's schedule and a team leader. The team leader would be responsible for starting and stopping time at each work site. While the employee all they need to do is clock in and clock out. There are other platforms that run this script and drastically improves time spent on the computer sorting through everyone's timesheets. This would be an exponential improvement on the contractor's side of things. What are your thoughts?petera1 year agoContributor 2600Views5likes6CommentsWhat tools are anyone using for team communication?
The internal communication in Jobber is not robust enough for multiple team members, especially when we may be working on the same customer/job at different times. Features needed: - ability to mention/tag other team members so they are notified of the comment or message - keeps the communications "within Jobber" at least in knowing which customer the communication pertains to Is there a 3rd party tool/plug in that anyone has found useful for this need? Or even better, Jobber team, is there any plan to deploy this as part of a standard feature?599Views5likes12CommentsTeam Tasks
Does anyone have any good tips for assigning Team compliance tasks like having to carry out equipment checks or risk assessments when on site. I've built the checklists etc in Job Forms but struggling with how to assign this as a task (Job) without attaching to a client.LauraG1 year agoContributor 2300Views4likes3CommentsMultiple Branches
Hey Team, I couldn't find something similar about this topic so I thought I'd post my own. We recently started a second branch of the same company and want to manage our jobs and data within Jobber but would love to have an easy way to separate the data when looking at the reporting screens. What are some suggestions how the best way to do that within the system without having to have 2 separate subscriptions? Thanks in advance!Solvedfmaksad1 year agoContributor 2299Views2likes4CommentsTraining

I'd like to give access to Jobber to a sales rep who answers the phone and books sales. Likely, this person would be a contract position, working remotely. Inside Jobber, this person would be able to: create a new customer create a new job enter the customer's credit card That's it. No other access. Is there a way to do this in Jobber?SolvedDerek11 year agoContributor 3213Views3likes1CommentHow can teams manage user permissions and admin access in Jobber?
The permissions section needs to be more robust. There are members of organizations that cannot handle the marketing side without administrative access. This puts the onus on the administrator for all of that. Things like adding parts should be able to be done by personnel other than administrators as well.bbliss8 months agoContributor 2203Views0likes1Comment
