For us, it's a combination of Google and local partnerships. Most of our leads come from Google, but a large portion of our long-term clients have come from local vacation rental companies. Early on, we made a point to introduce ourselves in person, build relationships, and explain what sets us apart from other cleaning companies. Those face-to-face connections have turned into some of our best referral sources. Google helps people find us, but relationships have been what really helped us grow.

I provide pressure washing, window cleaning, and softwash, and I’ve started my business in three places (Washington, Georgia, and now Tennessee) and it seems that either door knocking and direct mail have been the best two for me every time. We’ve done wry little door knocking in TN because over there years, it seems that with more “no soliciting “ signs, you can accidentally start off with a negative reputation with neighbors “warning” each other from their door bell cameras. But, people seem to have a better attitude about young people, so my kids (age 13, 17, and 22) have done a little door knocking for us and had success in TN. I seem to get ghosted with most Facebook leads, and Angie leads seemed to be the people looking for the cheapest price; and when I did my costs for the leads, running to do quotes, etc from that… I was slowly losing money. So back to Every Door Direct! 🙂 I put my info and some kind of deal, and then in a year or two, it builds up loyal customers that refer me, so it multiplies. But I have a saying with those who work for me: “do the job so good, that the customer will WANT to tell their friends. That will keep giving us the work we need.”

I hate to promote anything on here but Homestars is really killing it for me. I have 40+ 5 star reviews on there now and leads are coming in like crazy. I have even started to get a lot of invites rather than someone just posting a job to have other Pros show interest. I would say it is worth a look, but sometimes there are a lot of dead end leads on there. You have to pay attention to what is going on like how many other Pros have shown interest, how many have been shortlisted and how long ago the lead was posted.
