Would you use TikTok to find your next hire? 👀

Social media might not be the first place you look for another crew member, but 60% of Gen Z is considering the trades—and they’re already online.

Has social media ever brought you a job candidate? Would you try TikTok or Reels to find your next hire?

In this Masters of Home Service episode, Rich Camacho (BlueRecruit), Haley Rogers, and Jacob Palmer get into how TikTok is becoming a recruiting tool for the trades, what kind of content attracts potential Gen Z hires, and how training, feedback, and growth opportunities give younger employees a reason to stay.

So we don't really use Indeed or services like that, and I know most of our applicants come from either social media or they are definitely Googling us. Also, when they're googling you and checking out your social media, they are doing research on your company, so just remember that when you're doing all your posting.

Most of my job applicants apply to us already knowing quite a bit about the company, and they are essentially telling me this looks like a place where I would like to work.

what does the process look like when someone applies to your company? is it a general resume drop box form that lands in your email?

        So here is the link

I direct everyone to our website. They scan this QR code with their phone, and it opens up a self-recording video. I ask three different questions, and they answer those questions on video. That video comes to me through a program called LiveSwitch. Once LiveSwitch gets the video, it also runs an AI report on the applicant, and it is extremely detailed. After that, I review ones that are scored highly, and I reach out to them.

This saves me an amazing amount of time. I also get to see the applicant and how they speak instead of only getting a resume. It allows me to sort of get an idea of their character before I bring them into the office.
