  • One thing that’s worked for me is leaving a strong visual presence in the area—yard signs, branded vehicle wraps, and even door hangers after finishing a job. Neighbors notice when you’re already working nearby, and it builds trust. I also ask happy clients if they’d be comfortable referring me to their neighbors, which often leads to clusters of jobs in the same street.

Those tactics are gold! I love your approach of using yard signs, vehicle wraps, and door hangers. It's a great way to get noticed, be remembered, and build trust in neighborhoods. Thanks for sharing, Kate! :)

Why try to be five mile famous. Heard this first from Dan Antonelli. He is known to be the brand father of home services. Love his book too. We have been working hard the last year to have all of our vehicles wrapped and trailers, always in uniform, door hangers, yard signs, and we occasionally do geo targeted social media ads.

Ooh, I'll need to check that book out!

Sounds like you’re doing all the right things to show up in your community. I'm curious.. out of everything you’re doing, what’s made the biggest impact so far? 👀

I think wrapping my fleet has had the biggest impact. Game changer on the brand recognition and there is definitely a correlation between the wraps and our google analytics going up pretty drastically in the last year.

The biggest wins for us have come from stacking visibility. We do the job (wrapped truck), then immediately ask for a review while the result is fresh, put out a yard sign the day of service, and follow up with door hangers or postcards to the surrounding homes within a week. Neighbors seeing clean results plus social proof beats any single tactic alone. Door hangers work, but they work best when paired with real proof happening right in front of them. Stacking visibility and catching neighbors while the results are fresh can really make the difference in getting noticed. Thanks for sharing what’s working for you! Lots of great, practical advice here 😎
