How to grow business

Hello, I am a new business starting up. I will be starting a lawn care and landscaping business. That is my passion to be outdoors. Also helping my local community. Keep a safe clean environment, I’m wanting to get to know the business better far as to how to get my business recognized and how to make sure that my clients are happy with my business.

  • Do the right thing when nobody is watching.  Be good at what you do.  Always give more than is expected. Do these things and you'll be just fine.  Endeavor to persevere!

  • I'm in the same boat as you. That being said I have works for a few small family-owned businesses that offered lawn care. They didn't care about their customers at all the exact opposite of what I'm doing, and it seems to work amazingly. Word of mouth is a very powerful tool as well as getting business cards from vista print.

I definitely appreciate the feedback. I will definitely check out Vistaprint. I totally forgot about them. It’s been so long since I had my business aspect set of mine, but I’m ready to get out in the community and make some communities look beautiful.

  • Great question.  Word of mouth is a great way to get new clients.  Door knockers and actually talking to people, selling them on the spot.  Also, starting your google my business page and collecting google reviews.

Thank you for the feedback. I just created my Google business page. I already have a LLC registered. I’m just trying to get this business off the ground. Thanks so much for your input.

  • I agree with Matt! Listening and showing the customer that you care is the best way to grow your business.  If you care for them, customers will in turn spread the word about you.  That is where just about every customer i have has come from.

  • Fantastic advice, I will definitely be checking in here more often to take and offer help. Genuinely helpful.

You could also offer a discount to a customer after bringing in a few clients. That's what iv done in the pass.

  • I am starting the same journey. Just having some difficulty settling up

This is my second year running my own lawn care business. First year was a tester year. I currently work on lawn starter and lawn love to get myself out there. This year I have business cards to hand out when ppl ask if I have a business card. I’ve also been advertising on local fb groups I’m a part of.  ChatGPT helps to write up ads that draw ppl in. Have a business fb page to post photos of your work. Also don’t be afraid to tell ppl that you aren’t qualified for certain things. Most people will be understanding if you aren’t able to preform a certain task. So far I get ppl asking if I know someone that does this type of work. Don’t accept jobs if you have no idea what you’re doing.

  • Always do detailed and thorough work! My wife and I started doing lawn care last month and we've already eclipsed 15 clients. Some on repeat as well. Word of mouth and leaving business cards with them after a job is completed works wonders. Some neighbors talk to each other, some don't. However, never pass up an opportunity for a referral. Also, utilize thumbtack and nextdoor apps
