Craigslist can work amazingly well - but only on a promoted post and only when you frame it correctly. I've been marketing for 20 years - mostly in the trades - and I know things. I know so many things that I've actually had small operators like you say "TURN IT OFF! I'm too busy" - so here's some advice!
Tell a story that resonates - but lead with the offer - be specific. Hit a pain point. "Mobile Brake Service You Can Afford - Indepedent Mechanic" - Tell a story like "After 10 years in the shop and getting let down, worked hard, and underappreciate - i've decided to go indepdent as a Mobile Mechanic - this will allow me to spend more time with my 5 year old and be more flexible while his mom works a crazy schedule as a nurse. I'd love handle your brake repair needs or just diagnose that problem you've been worried about." then state clearly the estimated price range - your availability - your service area. give aCLEAR call to action "Click here to message me or schedule" - and make sure you are using a CRM like mine that automatically acknowledges leads and starts the process IMMEDIATELY - not tomorrow - right away. Including a picture of yourself and you working really really helps! Have at least a FB/IG - that has posts. Let me know if you need advise!
