How are you using AI in your low-voltage or tech service business?

I run a network infrastructure and physical security company in Washington, DC, with structured cabling, wireless, IP cameras, and access control. I've been using Claude to help with scoping jobs, drafting contracts, writing proposals, and working through business decisions.

Curious what others in the trades are doing with AI. Are you using it for estimates, client communication, scheduling, or something else entirely?

Drop what's working for you below.

We use AI to improve operational efficiency, customer service, and project management. AI assists with generating technical reports, maintenance documentation, service proposals, invoices, and preventive maintenance schedules. We also use AI-powered tools to analyze equipment data, support troubleshooting, optimize inventory management, and streamline communication with clients. By integrating AI into our workflow, we reduce administrative time, improve accuracy, and allow our technicians to focus more on delivering high-quality field services and system reliability.

  • We used Claude to scrape all of our reviews to find the themes, pain points, desires, exact language of our ideal avatar to update and fine tune our marketing messages. Also have scheduled tasks with Claude to automate KPI reporting from Jobber (a monthly report that would take me 2 hours now takes Claude 10 minutes). We also use GPT 5.5 with a specific prompt to create Facebook ad assets to keep pumping out different types of images for creative diversity hitting our updated marketing messages. ACQ AI for pretty much anything/everything business related (deep diving numbers, client communication process, figuring out how to handle roadblocks).
