Jobber jobs to QBO projects integration
Has anyone tried to extend the QBO Jobber integration to link a Jobber Job with a QBO project? We are an electrical contractor and have numerous suppliers and many components we use. All of them are entered into QBO. Our field team uses Jobber. I want to use the QBO projects to track project profitability. Which means three enhancements are needed: 1 - Jobber Job creation triggers a QBO project for the same customer. 2 - Time sheets from Jobber need to be updated to tag the customer and Job in QBO 3 - invoices would need to also be linked to from project to job. The job numbers in jobber could be used in QBO to create the linkage e.g. they can be used in the project name.28Views3likes5CommentsJob Forms (Checklists) Not Good Enough For Tracking Job Status
Jobber advertises being able to track the progress/completion of Jobs using the Forms (checklist) function. Where it is attached to the Job when creating it. But it seems very deficient and does not really work as advertised or implied. If you have multiple visits or follow-ups to a Job, especially if its because something wasn't complete on an initial visit, that the checklist form wouldn't have been completed... but when you schedule a new visit for crew to go back to that Job to complete the prior visit, you are presented with a whole new Form attached to that visit... the form is blank. Filling out a whole new version of the same form already partially filled out makes no sense to me, we would want the Form/Checklist to show the items that were already completed. Then we easily know what we have left to do on this follow-up visit. And, the only place to view the Job Form status info is either directly in the form, or in Reports. Reports is a great view, and feels like actual Project Management, you can view the status of the Job essentially based on Form data... but again, you end up with multiples of the same form showing up on that screen, one for every time there is a new visit. This makes that view messy, hard to track the true status, making the Report faulty data, and again makes no sense. This in no way is a Job form to me, its a Visit form. And that is NOT the same thing. All of this data input across all Forms should be collective, and ideally we should see the Completion Status of that form on the JOB level view and pop-ups, this would give all users the ability to see the status of the Job and whats left to do at a glance. In short, you should only ever have 1 instance of the specific Form, or Forms, associated with the Job (or atleast the option to make it so) and it follows every subsequent visit showing the prior checked off items. We often have multiple checklists associated with a single Job, as each form is needed for 1 of multiple phases of that Job, which is completed over months. We are already lacking 'Project' level management for handling large multi-phase Jobs, if the Forms function was linked properly it would make it feel less lacking overall, as these Forms could act more like project management and status tracking. Or, am I missing something? Or could we get tight integration with an App/3rd Party service that could fill that Project Management gap?Solved14Views0likes2CommentsInstalls (one off job) vs Monthly Invoicing (reoccuring job)
Hi All, We are a equipment rental company and adopted Jobber a couple of months ago. Our work flow has been sales guy creates quote for equipment rental which requires a deposit. Once the quote is signed and paid, we create a one off job for the install of our equipment. After the install is complete, we create a completely different reoccurring job for charging the client via jobber payments a monthly fee for service. This seems so clunky. It would easier if we could add a reoccurring invoice that is tied to the original job or edit a one off job to a reoccurring job. The installer rarely needs to go back out to the job once installed. Does anyone have a work around out side the one we are currently using? I'm considering going to another payment platform but it would be so much easier to keep everything in jobber. Any advice or suggestions are welcome. Thank youSolved22Views0likes5CommentsFinding out when a client profile was created?
So I took a call from a customer on a Friday afternoon after a busy day, he wanted service for the next week so I put in his name and address in a job booking, but forgot to take down his number! It is in my call log on my phone, but I had so many calls that day and I don't remember which number was his. I was wondering if there was a way to see what day/time a client/job was entered in Jobber so I can cross reference my call log?11Views0likes2CommentsRequest for Quote building using hidden subtotals
As a handyman/general contractor, I only base my quotes per job/task and not time and materials. I do not want the client to see the price of labor, cost of materials, or other line items except the Job task itself and the price. In order to build an accurate quote, I have to build all of this in a spreadsheet (labor, materials, etc) and copy over the grand total. If I need to make a revision, I have to go back to the spreadsheet and redo the calculations. It would be very helpful to have a way to build a quote with hidden sub line items that can be changed. Quickbooks has a estimate feature called bundling. Example: Tile Backsplash Installation $2,575 (hidden below) Labor 12 $165 $1,980 Tile 1 $350 $350 Mastic 1 $30 $30 Grout 1 $30 $30 Misc 1 $20 $20 Does anyone else struggle with this or have an efficient workaround?9Views0likes1CommentCustomer Q: Can Route Optimization set start/end points without adding them as visits?
Route Optimization doesn’t yet support fixed start and end locations that aren’t visits, but it’s something we’re exploring for the future. In the meantime, here’s a workaround you can use: Add your yard or storefront as two visits. In your Anytime visits list, drag one to the first slot (start) and other to the last slot (end). When running Route Optimization, check the options for Start and End appointments. This will make the route calculate from and back to that location. There should be an ability to create job templates for repeat types of work. Many business have some core services they offer and having to type out the titles every time and set the number of hours every time and then having to add the line items each time is a real hassle. There should be an ability to create a template where the title can be autogenerated by certain fields or criteria and times for those jobs can be preset with the default line items loaded. Then you would only need to select a client and property. Having templates like this would take a lot of the time consuming administrative burden off.17Views0likes3CommentsMass Scheduling with Line items
Is there a quick and simple way to upload visits that include line items, rather than having to create each one individually? I'm new to Jobber, so any guidance would be appreciated. It seems strange to me that I can create a job but not add the other details. It would be really helpful if we could upload line items as well for better automation and efficiency during the invoicing process after the visit.13Views0likes1CommentCustomer Appointment Confirmations
Let me preface with how we currently use Jobber in our daily workflow. I own an Appliance Repair Company and we currently have any new home visits setup as Requests. If we order parts the Request is then turned into a Quote so we can keep track of open orders. Once the customers part/s get checked in it is then turned into a Job and a return visit is then scheduled, upon completion the Job is then turned into an Invoice and payment collected. If we complete the home visit on the first time going to the customers home then the Request is turned into a Job and then an Invoice and payment is collected. One of the things I would like to integrate for my team would be better automation for confirming customers appointment times and the way that Jobber currently does this is not the best. What I am requesting would be a button inside the dashboard that would allow either the dispatcher or with permissions each technician to send out a batch of automated texts/emails to each customer on their schedule for the following day through the Jobber Two-Way Texting Number. It would be nice to also allow this to be automated as well (ex. every Sunday-Thursday at 6pm it would auto send for the following days Requests/Jobs). It would be fantastic to allow this to be editable to show details regarding their upcoming appointment specifically an arrival window. We cannot guarantee we can show up at an exact time as some jobs take longer then others and drive times may also vary so we book in 2 hour time slots. It would also be advantageous to include a prompt that would allow the Client to Respond Yes to Confirm and No to Reschedule. This should then be trigger an action that would then document their response into the Notes section of the said Request/Job. If they Select No a Task would then be generated and either sent to the Dispatcher or Technician, whoever sent the batch appointment confirmation. If this message goes un-responded to maybe allow it to send a reminder the following morning or notate that it is un-responded so that the appropriate person can follow up with the customer via phone call. As of this moment the only way there seems to be to do this is have someone build a custom prompt with Zapier and Twilo or other 3rd party software using webhooks and APIs. I am a huge proponent of keeping things as simple as possible and that the fewer apps that need to be used to perform a task the better as you are eliminating points of failure. I understand that not everyone has a cell phone but in todays day and age my Barber has this setup so I am unsure why it isn't possible to have this built into Jobber. If I am missing a feature in Jobber please feel free to let me know or if there is a simpler way to do this other then with Zaiper I am all ears! This is a time sink for myself as well as other service techs who have just worked a full day and then now have to call their customers for the following day. I would love to elevate that burden from them the best way possible. If someone know of a way to set this up with Zaiper and another app I am also all ears for that!
