How do you get fencing and deck jobs when you're just starting out with no marketing budget?

I've talked to thousands of business owners at this point and door knocking is #1 for getting started. The will to knock and keep knocking. You need to hit that one person who's had fence and deck on their list and you're now their hero. And then when you get a job, do door knocking and flyers to their neighbours.
