Online Booking and Communications Challenges
Hey Everyone, We have some support questions we are hoping to get answers to and thought we would post it on here to see if any other users have found solutions to these challenges or are having the same challenges? Is there a way to edit the "On my way message”? We would like to customize the message and edit it to not provide our employees personal phone numbers but rather list our two way messaging number. We have the jobber Grow package, and are promoting our clients to utilize the two way messaging number for communications, so all of our team gets their message and can reply quickly. However we're concerned that if we ever move away from jobbers platform, we would lose this number and would therefore have missed communications. Is this a concern for others using this feature? We have been trying to implement the online booking feature on our website. However we are finding it is challenging that we cannot select what employees are available for certain services. Our exterior services guys are not able to do interior cleaning, and vice versa. We are wondering if there is a way to work around this or if Jobber has anything in the works? We have also found that the booking times for services is too limiting. We offer window cleaning and charge by the window pane, it takes 7 minutes to do an interior window pane and frame, but the lowest bookable time option is 15 min. This is resulting in a job being booked for twice as long as it will actually take, or showing that we do not have an available booking window and therefore losing out on the booking. Also, for services that take longer than 60 minutes, the next option is 90 minutes, that’s a big jump. Does Jobber have the ability to make services be set up by single minute units rather than 15 min and 30 min slots? Thanks for any input and insights!8Views0likes0CommentsWe Need a Catalog to Build Estimates 📗
🥳🔥We need a catalog 📗! The items in the catalog help with building out an estimate. These items are the nuts and bolts of the products and services. Examples of catalog items are materials, permits, labor, subs, and anything else you need to complete a job. The ability to add images to the item would be a plus! Creating an Item in the Catalog; Item Name; Description for customer (can be toggled on to let customer see or turned off); Sku Number; Part Number; Quantity; Unit (Each, Feet, Gallon); Cost Code; Type; Unit Cost; Extended Cost (Calculated After you input the qty); Unit Price; Extended Price (Calculated after you input the qty with selected Markup or Margin); Markup; Margin; Taxable y/n; Internal Notes; Image of item 😮Currently, we build estimates outside of Jobber. Once we know the prices, we create the estimate in Jobber and send it to the customer. It would be nice to create an estimate in Jobber and, behind the scenes, see the prices, quantities, and markups of items we picked from the catalog to determine the estimated amount. Once the job is complete, adjusting the actual item's prices or quantities would be super cool to see how the final numbers compare to the estimated cost. Is there anyone else out there who would benefit from a catalog?62Views1like3CommentsWeather Widget 🌞🌧️❄️🔥
Is it possible to integrate Jobber with a weather app? On the dashboard, we were thinking a 7-day forecast could be visible. Also, I thought a small temperature reading on the monthly calendar would be visible. We also thought the weather for the day could be captured and saved as an internal note for the job.41Views2likes2CommentsAcorn Integration?
We use enhancify. We considered Wisetack. However, we require down payments and don't like that payment gets released after work gets completed. We stumbled across Acorn and saw they integrate with HouseCall Pro. On their quotes, they offer a monthly finance rate the customer could get if they used Acorn (estimated rate of course). Is this a possible integration in the future, or is there something similar? tia22Views0likes1CommentHow do you utilize reports in your business?
I am curious to hear which reports you consider most valuable in your business and what actions are taken based on those reports if anyone is willing to share. Are there reports that you use regularly in Jobber or reports that you wish were part of Jobber? If so how do you utilize the information that the reports provide? Are changes made based on the reports? Is the data used to create the reports monitored internally for consistency? Thanks for sharing all input is helpful!369Views4likes15CommentsCreating different vendors for same product
I am trying to set up the products for a landscape business and we have three main suppliers for the same products - meaning, for example, one type of plant that we can purchase from vendors. What is the easiest way to set this up in Jobber? Would love some options - I have an idea of one - to combine the vendor name with the actual "name" of the product (create in Excel, combine columns into one before uploading) Any suggestions? Thank you!71Views0likes3CommentsSticker SHOCK! 😲
I have been doing my office's annual purge and came across some old invoices from the earliest power equipment my business purchased. Believe it or not, some of the equipment I use has doubled in price for the replacement model at today's cost. Since it is our responsibility as owners to be profitable enough to replace/repair equipment as needed, I find myself adjusting my equipment cost recovery number upward almost monthly in my budget. How often are you adjusting your cost recovery upward to adjust for the ongoing inflation?56Views1like1CommentDo you utilize battery-powered tools?
Handheld battery-powered tools have come a long way from their first iterations, especially over the past few years. I've started making the switch away from gas-powered equipment throughout the last few seasons for my business and have found the switch to be positive for my workflow and bottom line. This is a trend I believe will continue as batteries become more powerful and long-lasting. Are you utilizing any battery-powered equipment and, if so, do you have any favorites you'd like to share??280Views3likes8Comments
