Direct Call Leads

We only pay per qualified conversation with homeowners. After a few years of hunting down bad contacts, getting ghosted and wasting money on ads and ad managers we internally built out a system that only costs money when a homeowner directly calls us looking for our services. It’s been a gamechanger and we even started selling these calls to other roofers and other industries/home service companies because there’s no real risk. Either you talk to a homeowner who wants you to come out, or you don’t pay. They can be kind of expensive but our ROI is at about 3.4x for a while now using it so I’m never going back to our old methods…unless someone has a lower risk option that doesn’t consume a ton of time.

  • Thats great, my only concern is that 3.4X is still a little low. My personal rule of thumb is any lead source with an ROI less than 5X is essentially spinning your wheels. Can you tell us a little more about your system? We joined several organizations with property managers, building owners and facility managers and are getting at least 20X. We are fully vested though and attend all meetings and events, joined committee's and engage with everyone on LinkedIn.

  • We have been using EDDM campaigns that directly target people that would qualify for our offerings. Once we land one or two jobs in that neighborhood we hit the people on the street with door hangers if it's allowed and leave our signage in the yard. The signage has an alternate phone number from the main company line so we know the customers that will call that number have seen our work. We also have a solid lead and referal program that's built into our automated software that we use for estimation and tracking. Finally email blast for existing customers has been very rewarding. I would say the conversion rate on those call ins are better than 80%.

That's great that you've found something that works for you!!

  • Yeah, this is to the OP, even though your predicted ROI is pretty low you have gave us no information as to the system you may have created. even with the ROI I have to say it is better than we are getting. Yes we are a new company (meaning only 4 months since we registered the business) providing residential cleaning services and only have 2 clients we are struggling to find more customers we. I have listed on YELP for biz and ran an ad on their paid for all the bells and whistles only to find no clients, we also placed google ads paid for the clicks with no calls wasting money and precious time  sitting at the desk pulling my hair out trying to work out what we are doing wrong. and dont get me started on BARK.com that complete waste of money.

We’ve been looking into more automated ways to market our services, and we recently found SendJim. It’s a tool that makes it easy to reach potential clients. If you’re interested, you can use our referral link: https://www.sendjim.io/referral-code1603142547366?grsf=8tdv1u

One great feature is sending postcards to neighbors of a project you’ve just completed. It’s a simple way to let people nearby know about your work and build awareness. You can buy credits and use them whenever you need, which makes it flexible and easy to manage.

This service can also be integrated with Jobber, allowing you to automate tasks and set up different scenarios to suit your workflow. I really like the idea of automating this process to see how well it works. It’s especially useful for letting neighbors know who’s working in their area, whether it’s for gardening or other home services. Adding branded vehicles or signs at your job sites can make this even more effective by boosting your visibility.

Check it out and let us know if it works great for you!
