I'm a fairly active networker. I've tried BNI (I hate the politics and strictness of it but I will concede it works), I'm currently in a Le Tip group, I always wear something from my company around town, I've done NARPM. I haven't done chamber of commerce but I'm wondering for those of you that are really active in the networking space - what tips do you have for people to either get started or take their networking to the next level? I think mine actually is I drive a fully wrapped vehicle around ALL the time. This is a conversation starter and it's a little bit of a long play. All the places I go regularly, the people know what my business is at least and it helps get brand awareness in my circles. BUT I know there's other things out there. So what are the rest of you doing?HUGEHomePros1 day agoJobber Ambassador9Views0likes0CommentsHow do contractors handle charging markups on materials without feeling guilty?
How do you get over the “guilt” of product markups. Of course when you’re offering a service that includes a product or material there’s going to be markups involved, but I always feel like I’m doing something wrong, almost like they’re going to go to the store and come back with “you charged me $17 per unit when the store only charged me $15 per” is there a way to get over this?VerdantScapes2 days agoContributor 3750Views9likes33CommentsHow to get more customers for free
I started my gutter business March of this year I been having a job every week sometimes two, not so bad of a start but since May it’s been hard I’ve only had 1 install and we are in the last week of May. I pass out flyers door to door ( not bothering homeowners though) and I go to networking events to meet contractors but yet I haven’t gotten any luck. Anyone got any advice for me?63Views2likes6CommentsWhy is is so hard to find advertisement marketing agencies that actually work?
I'm still a fairly small business so I cant afford to try everyone on the market but so far everyone I've tried just kind of sucks at there own job. Now marketing really isn't my forte which is why I'd prefer to just pay someone to do it for me. Here's the problem though. Everyone wants $500-$1200 start up fee + $500-800 monthly fee. I can afford that just fine when my calendar is full but I'm with my 2nd company already and so far both of them are just trash. The first guy was alright but it always took 3 or 4 days to get responses to my messages. My guy I'm using now I'm just closing in on a month of using him; he has a teem of over 10 employees, he's usually vary responsive, and he always has a lot to say about what he's working on. But in 1 month of using him so far I've gotten 10 leads and 4 of them booked. Now for some business models out there that might be fine but for me I need 2 jobs a day to stay busy. So I'm just curious what all of you think about this and if y'all have any advice for me here?zalico4133 days agoContributor 26Views1like0Comments
